When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

This Cookie Policy explains how Claribase (“we,” “us,” or “our”) uses cookies and similar tracking technologies on claribase.com (the “Site”). It should be read together with our Privacy Policy.

What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work, to improve your experience, and to provide information to the site owner and third-party services. Similar technologies — such as pixels, tags, and local storage — perform comparable functions, and we refer to all of them as “cookies” in this policy.

Cookies may be set by us directly (“first-party cookies”) or by third-party services we use (“third-party cookies”). They may last only for your browsing session (“session cookies”) or remain on your device for a set period (“persistent cookies”).

How we use cookies

We use cookies for the following purposes:

  • Strictly necessary — required for the Site to function securely, including security, bot protection, and remembering your cookie choices. These cannot be switched off.
  • Analytics / performance — help us understand how visitors find and use the Site so we can improve it.
  • Functional — enable features such as booking a consultation through our embedded scheduler.
  • Advertising / marketing — used to measure the effectiveness of our advertising and to show relevant content to people who have visited the Site.

Where required by law, we set analytics, functional, and advertising cookies only after you consent through our cookie banner. Strictly necessary cookies are always active.

Cookies set by our booking tool (Calendly)

When you use the “Book a Consultation” feature, our scheduler is provided by Calendly, which sets its own cookies within its booking interface. These include session and functional cookies (_calendly_session, cal_anonymous_id, calendly_idd_id_*, calendly_invitee_uuid_*, referrer_user_id, country), analytics cookies (via Google Analytics and Segment: _ga, ajs_anonymous_id, analytics_session_id), payment-security cookies (Stripe: __stripe_mid), security cookies (Cloudflare: __cf_bm, _cfuvid), and Calendly’s own consent cookies (OneTrust: OptanonConsent, OptanonAlertBoxClosed). Your use of the Calendly booking interface is also governed by Calendly’s own privacy and cookie notices.

Third-party services

The following third parties may receive information through cookies on our Site. We encourage you to review their privacy notices:

Some of these providers are located outside Canada, including in the United States. Where your personal information is transferred internationally, we take steps to ensure it is protected in accordance with applicable law.

Managing your cookie preferences

You can control cookies in several ways:

  • Our cookie banner — when you first visit the Site, you can accept or reject non-essential cookies. You can change your choices at any time by opening our cookie settings
  • Browser controls — most browsers let you block or delete cookies through their settings. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may stop parts of the Site from working.
  • Global Privacy Control (GPC) — where applicable, we honor the GPC browser signal as a request to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information.
  • Service-specific opt-outs:

If you are in a jurisdiction with applicable privacy rights (for example, under Quebec’s Law 25, Canada’s PIPEDA, the EU/UK GDPR, or the California CCPA/CPRA), you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict the use of your personal information, and to withdraw consent. Please see our Privacy Policy or contact us using the details below.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the cookies we use or for legal reasons. We will post the updated version here and revise the “Last updated” date above.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

Who we share your data with

If you request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the reset email.

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Where we send your data

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.
